Job Description:
Under the direction of the Manager of E-Discovery & Litigation Technology, the Project Manager is the primary liaison of the E-Discovery department to individual case teams. The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects throughout the electronic discovery lifecycle. The Project Manager will work directly with partners, associates, and paralegals on all aspects of the electronic discovery process, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of data.
Required Skills:
- Working directly with case teams to plan discovery projects for both electronically stored information (ESI) and paper, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production
- Consulting with case teams regarding best practices for document management, electronic discovery, and matter workflow
- Work with Manager of E-Discovery & Litigation Technology to implement and plan technical upgrades and project plans
- Hands-on experience using electronic discovery processing software
- Provide assistance with discovery data analysis, processing, and productions Deep understanding of outside vendor work flow
- Maintaining detailed familiarity with vendor platforms, such as Relativity, and providing support to case teams utilizing those platforms Capable of working as part of a group or independently
- Communicating with case teams on discovery management issues
- Overseeing each project and ensuring quality and success
- Reporting to case teams and Manger of E-Discovery & Litigation Technology on project status
- Identifying and implementing quality and change management procedures on an ongoing basis
- Collecting, maintaining and analyzing project metrics with a view to long-term service improvement
- Tracking and analyzing incoming client data
- Advising and recommending on vendor selection and coordinating vendor contact and relations
- Initiating, negotiating, overseeing, and coordinating vendor work
- Executing multiple priorities and projects on a daily basis
- Ability to effectively communicate with client IT department
- Ensuring ongoing deep, broad, and current knowledge of emerging products and technological solutions
- Entering and updating project details in the appropriate case and task management databases
- Contribute to departmental publications/presentations/documentation
Education and Experience:
- A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required and a background in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is preferred
- At least 4 years of experience in the litigation support of a law firm or other similar legal environment, including, but not limited to a vendor
Computer Skills:
- Hands on experience with Relativity and/or comparable vendor hosted software, Concordance, Concordance Image and/or IPRO, TextMap and/or comparable Deposition Management software, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016 and Text Editing Software
- Strong working knowledge of MS Access a plus Technical understanding of computer and server hardware
