eDiscovery Specialist
New York City; $115K + OT
Job Summary:
Responsible for promoting and ensuring the effective use of current Litigation Technology to Firm litigation matters. Responsible for adhering to all Global Practice Services (“GPS”) and Business Intelligence (“BI”) policies, procedures, best practices and guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, engaging with legal teams and providing technical support and assistance with the planning, design, development, application and implementation of technology and database systems such as Relativity, Concordance, Opticon, Livenote, Casemap, Timemap Sanction, LAW, external web-based document repositories, and external web-based case management tools.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will have a basic understanding of the litigation process, standard litigation support procedures and concepts. Should be familiar with basic project management concepts and electronic evidence rules and laws. Must be familiar with the current Microsoft Office Suite, Concordance and Relativity, LexisNexis LAW, LiveNote or other comparable transcript handlers, Sanction or other related presentation software and external web-based document repositories and case management tools. The candidate should be self-motivated, quickly learn new software and procedures, exercise good judgment and show initiative in resolving problems and completing assignments. Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize workload. Must work well under pressure and in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Experience:
A four-year college degree is required. A minimum of five years work experience as an eDiscovery Specialist in an ABA 100 law firm or Fortune 100 corporate legal department is required. A minimum of five years experience with any of the current document image management systems and PC-based databases in common use in large law firms or corporate legal departments, such as Concordance, Summation, Opticon, IPRO, Doculex, etc. is also required. Extensive LAW and Relativity experience preferred. A minimum of two years experience working with external web-based document repository, review or case management tools is necessary.
