Our client is currently seeking a Practice Technology & eDiscovery Project Manager for our San Diego office. This role is primarily located in San Diego with limited travel to the Del Mar and Orange County offices. The Practice Technology & eDiscovery Project Manager participates as a member of the firm’s Practice Technology & eDiscovery department (PTED) and assists attorneys, paralegals and the other PTED team members by playing a fundamental role in the work required to support the firm’s clients. This is a hands-on position and provides e-discovery consulting and technology support to case teams, including vendor management, database management, e-discovery project management and training. The Practice Technology & eDiscovery Project Manager reports to the Practice Technology & eDiscovery Manager and the San Diego Office Administrator.
As a Practice Technology & eDiscovery Project Manager you will work with case teams and PTED team members to assess and support technology needs throughout all stages of the litigation or government investigation process. You will be responsible for the advanced technical and project management aspects of discovery, including the stages outlined in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model. In order to guide attorneys through the discovery process you possess knowledge of Federal and State e-discovery laws/rules. Additional knowledge of foreign country data privacy laws a plus. You will also coordinate with case teams to select, communicate with and manage outside vendors for electronic discovery projects, as well as maintain tracking logs for data received and loaded to review platform(s), as well as data produced by opposing counsel and third parties. The Practice Technology & eDiscovery Project Manager will also prepare e-discovery budget in connection with data collection, data processing, data hosting and billable hours for Project Management.
Successful candidate is proficient building relational databases using Relativity, TextMap, CaseMap, IPRO and others as well as productivity tools such as Microsoft Access, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, editing and conversion tools. Excellent communication and follow-up skills are needed as you will maintain open communication and close interaction with attorneys, paralegals and case teams as necessary. We are seeking a candidate with 5 years of litigation support experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues using technology.
